cab mount popping noise, or steering shaft problem

I have been listening to this noise for quite some time. Basically when I make a right hand turn I hear a pop from the cab mount (underneith my feet) and then occasionally I hear it pop (it sounds like its unloading from the right hand turn) when I make a left hand turn. I feel nothing through the steering wheel and Im fairly confident it doesn't sound like the steering shaft issue... Just curious if anyone else has experienced this or if anyone else thought their steering shaft noise wasn't caused by the steering until it was fixed.

The noise sounds like when you run over a rock wierd and the tire spits it out the side.

Sounds like the same thing... I cant REALLY feel it, not yet anyways.. its so faint of a poping feeling in the floor board that its nearly psychological with the noise. Good to know im not going crazy haha

I've had the same problem on my 2000 Yukon for as long as I can remember. I recall reading a TSB on the problem that said something about removing a front-end cross-bar, taking off that black gunk they spray on, and then reinstalling... the TSB said it wasn't causing any permanent damage, so I've just lived with it.

If anyone confirms a correct fix, let us know.

Mine does it too...I don't worry about it. I just make a "bonk" sound when I think it's going to happen. I think this may annoy passengers...Oh well, sucks to be them, I'm having fun with my "bonk-prediction" noises. :seeya:
