What would it take to do this retrofit. Are the spindles different or did GM just change the caliper mounts and add bigger discs?

Not sure about the spindles (someone else may know) but you will definitely need 17" rims, rotors & calipers and a custom CAL for the ABS since the larger rotors will cause premature ABS activation.

I think it would just be a hardware swap (rotors, calipers (maybe), spindles). The only thing that will affect the ABS would be tire diameter. There are a couple of aftermarket kits to go to larger rotors with stock calipers with don't require ABS changes. I am wondering if it would be cheaper to go with the GM equipment over Baer or PowerSlot Plus?

It is a little amazing to me that I have not got more interest in this post. When I heard the '05 front brakes were bigger, I immediately wondered if it would be an easy upgrade for the '04 and older trucks. Are there any techs out there that have worked on both and could give me an answer on the swap requirements.
