Here's the pics of the tailgate dealer screwed up

Dropped the truck off this morning, body shop manager took the keys and said your all set, call you when we're done. :jester: Asked him where my loaner was because I wouldn't be driving it until it is completely fixed and don't forget to send it to service so they can fix my high fan setting they broke. I don't think he planned on giving me the loaner, he made a call and said your car will be here in a minute. I asked him if they were going to do the whole tailgate, including the clear coat, he said it would look like brand new, said they would take the tailgate off and take the truck to service. As of 3:00 today, service hadn't seen it, nor were they informed by my salesman or body shop manager that it would be coming over for service. The guy asked me if I got in an accident..........I had to dig it in that they gave me the truck back covered in rubbing compound and a burn in the tailgate..........told him I was surprised he didn't notice it when I drove away......what an a$$.

So here's the pics, there a little big, one is the rubbing compound all over the back of my truck, and the other a close-up of the burns. Keep your fingers crossed they fix this right, I am a little worried they are out to get me.

Hope I did this right, click on the link below.

that sucks, they could have at least got the compund off for you. If they cant fix it right next time tell them you are going to swap tailgates with a new truck on the lot...

I would have driven that truck though the showroom glass wall if they tried to give it to me looking like that. :D

Anybody else starting to think Lisa works for Ford? :jester:

I am not exactly sure by the photo just what you are talking about.

Based on your posts' it amazes me that you are having so much trouble. Have you spoken directly to the management at this dealer ship. I have two chev dealers I work with and have never had a single issue associated with them not handling anything to my satisfaction.

Talk to the owner of the dealer ship and tell him/her what the issues are, don't waste your time with the shop workers etc...they have no power.

I am really sorry you have had so much trouble but seems very odd.

I'd go to the general manager show him the piss poor job the body shop did, tell him to make it better or you will call the regional manager and have RM ask the GM why the vehicle was returned in such a condition.

You'll get some satisfaction.

Wow, what a bunch of A$$clowns...Repaint the enitre gate with VIN matched paint, period.  Tell them to send their paint guy to school...Later,  :D  :chevy:  :D

:jester: Geez, will it ever end? If I was her I would have bought a Ford by now.

Buying a ford has nothing to do with it. Its all in what dealership you end up with.. No matter the make of the vehicle, there is always going to be a dickhead dealership selling and servicing vehicles.

IMO, the manufacturers NEED to take more responsibility in this area. It doesn't take much for the manufacturer to say "they are a private business, we dont have alot of control over what they do". GM took care of my "blemish" by telling the dealership to do whatever it took (in other words, GM said we will pay whatever it costs). I wanted a door off another truck. GM made them do it.

Everyone needs to call GM (or ford, nissan, toyota or whoever) everytime the dealership does something unacceptable... even if they did it inadvertantly. Let them know there has been a problem.. and hopefully.. just hopefully... they will start to crack down on the dealerships... and maybe the bad dealerships out there will start to treat customers like customers and not red-headed step-children.

That is very true. My boss just bought a new $400K motorhome and has had a load of problems with it too that he is having to battle with the dealership over.

JRW68 Very well stated.

The only reason I have been going back to these clowns is because:

A) the screwed up the 02 and got me into the new 05.

B) After the bs they put me through with the 02, they told me to go one guy in service, Joe, that he would be my personal service adviser.

C) The owner seemed very sincere once he found out what they did to the 02 and made the offer of the 05.

D) It's close to work, I drop it off before I go to work, and pick it up after work.

Can't go to service manager, had it out with him regarding his attitude and "your truck is safe lady it's your steering shaft" only to find out 4 days later the right bearing was gone and the motor mounts broke....................he won't even look at me when I walk in.

Can't go to the general manager, had it out with him when they wouldn't give me or the area rep the mechanical notes.

Tony-they were suppose to fix a run in my tailgate, they told me it was fixed and ready to pick up, it was covered in rubbing compound and a huge burn mark in the paint..............they sent me home looking like that.

Thanks wingnut for getting the pics on here, you came to my rescue :banghead: Maybe I need to right another novel entitled "Once is not enough, dealer screws her again"

The service guy never called me back yesterday or even call today. Have no clue what's going on. I think I will take some pics into the owner, maybe he isn't aware of the morons that are working for him.

I think they either have a problem with me being a woman, or they just really want me to go away. I don't know, but I wish they would call and let me know what's going on with my truck.

Sorry this took so long, my computer croaked last Tuesday, DON'T LOAD NORTON INTERNET SECURITY 2005. Just spent $50 getting my computer back up. I'm going to start a new thread on what's happened..................it ain't pretty.

That's really just unreal, although I shouldn't be surprised-

When I bought mine, I noticed a couple blemishes on the left fender, like a speck of sand or dirt got painted over. I took it back after a day to fix it.

When I go to pick it up, it looks like they took a RASP file to it- it was gouged and cut and looked 100 times worse than before :banghead:

I bitched, got the sales (whoopee) manager out there, the service manager came out. The finally repainted the whole fender.

I was amazed at what they were trying to pass off...

Lisa, ya going to Chumpion Chevy, too ?!!?

Good one quadrasteer :shakehead:

Hope you read the new post.

Bigdogs-you are right, doesn't matter what brand it is, only if the dealers take care of the product they sell. If I had a chance to buy a vehicle it would be the Mustang. If I can't have a Silverado, then only a Mustang will do.........stick of course :banghead:
