Funny AC thing

Sat. I was sitting in line at a drive thru, after about 15 min my AC swtiched from Recirc to vent. After I gave the truck gas to get out of the line it went back to recirc. Recirc light was on the entire time and pressing the button would make it go off, but pressing it again turned the light on but it would not go into recirc until I started moving again. Is this something GM progs into the BCM or PCM??? Never done it before, it seems like it started doing it when my temp (on the mirrir) got to 100.

 

Also got to hear the truck with the fan fully engaged, sounds like a dump truck in 1st gear when you accelerate from a stop. Kind of cool sounding. I figured the AC thing above must be some kind of thing to keep the engine cooler???

I noticed the fan being really loud in first too. It's kind of annoying. I can't figure out why it's making so much noise, the fan itself is plastic. In fact the whole air system is noisy in first.

 

I actually find starting with the AC to get it cold and than switching to Recirc is a good way to go. Not sure if that saves any power, doubt it since it's all using the fan.
