transmission question

I have roughly 94,000 miles on my truck which is an 02 GMC ext cab w/4.8l engine. The problem I am having is that lately I can feel it shifting thru the gears. I do not hear anything but you can definetly feel it especially when I go from a dead stop to around 2500 RPM's to get up to speed or when I punch it to pass some one. This is the first automatic that I have owned and up till now it has always gone thru the gears smothly. Could this be a sign of a transmission problem or I am just getting paranoid. thanks in advance for the help.
