Fuel Pump

I have a 00 Suburban 4x4 3/4t 6.0L, Well the fuel pump has started making a real loud humming noise, today I started it up it would get real loud then get quite then get loud again (it was 97 outside today) does this mean my pump is about ready to crap out? Also is this 00 sub easier to change the pump then what my 97 sub was? I talked to my friend at the dealeship the one I need he dont have, he checked the closest one is 1.5 hours away, will the autozone unit I found last as long?

if you need a fuel pump get one from the dealer they are alot better the ones from autozone you will be changing it again within the year everone i have got from there has went bad in about 6 to 8 months or so
