After you turn them back down a turn or two, drive it for a couple of days before having it realigned.  The front end will come back down a little in the next 20 miles or so.  Then you'll have a true idea where the front end sits.  Following it dropping back down a little, then go for an alignment -

I did mine over the weekend also.

start was like

38lf - 38 1/2rf

40lr - 40 1/2rr

Went all the way to 41 on both front.  Then backed off to 40 1/4 on both.

Looks good!  Ride didn't change much.

Here's a couple of pics:

After reading all these posts about cranking the bars, I decided to do it yesterday too. I mainly just wanted to see how it looked. Can't say I notice any difference in the ride, but it does feel like it needs the front end aligned now, which I will do if I decide to keep them cranked up.

Hey Chane, the second picture you posted didn't come out on my end. Was it a "before" shot? The top picture looks good with the truck sitting level like that. I only cranked in three turns, so mine still sits a bit higher in the rear.

No it was closeup of the front.  It should work now after I edited it.  I have alot of before pictures I need to get developed.  I just took these w/a digital here @ work.

I will eventually get everything posted to my website.

What do you need to do to turn the Tbars?  Do you need to have the front end lifted off of the ground with the tires off?

I have a 96 that sits level with 285's and some room left in the fenders.  I want bigger tires and am wondering how much lift I could actually get out of twisting the torsion bars.  I have also heard that I can swap in 3/4 ton torsion bars for even more lift.

No you do not need to remove the tires.  I would say to jack up the front end though.

1st measure each side.  Record measurements

2nd jack truck up

3rd tighten the bolts (18mm cw turn) but leave a few threads.  Id say 3-5 turns on each is good

4th lower truck and remeasure making sure both sides are level

5th drive it a little then remeasure.  Truck will setlle down a bit

finally have an alignment done

Will messing with the torsion bars void the factory warranty in any way?   I want to raise the front end of my truck, but don't want anything I do to affect the warranty.

it shouldnt as long as you dont mention it.  I took my truck to the dealer for the alignment and the service advisor wanted to know why.  Well it was pulling right for a long time.  I never mentioned it and they never noticed.  How would they notice every truck is different anyways

Just dont say anything and they wont know
