Not good

I feel like I cheated on myself, being a hardcore Chevy fanantic :D , by buying the GMC cause of the equipment it had and the looks.

No hard feelings to the fellow Chevy owners :jester:

Still do not like the looks of the new chevys, and well, this was a pretty black ford with blacked out windows and all of the tunes done at the dealer. Nice unit, nice price. We just stopped because my wife wanted to sdrive the new pony, of which we never did get to do.

If I were to buy a brand new truck today, it would probly be a F-350, crew, single rear wheel, stroke, etc. The look of the new Silverado has never caught with me yet and the front of the GMC looks like a Freightliner. The Ford does not have near the cool bells and whistles on the inside as the GM's do though.

I would have to drive some extensive miles to check and see, but right now, I can think of about 40,000+ reasons as to why I will keep what I have!

I have to say I like the looks of the super duty's better than any pickup out there right now. They are a sweet looking ride. I'm still just a little leary of the powerstroke's though. I still say if you want a diesel that you're going to be using for what a diesel was designed to do (pull the hell outta a heavy load), your best bet is a cummins turbo diesel. Those inline 6's are still the torque-iest longest lasting engines. The duramax's are quiet, the powerstrokes are fast, but the cummins seems to be the best of both world's. You can chip the hell outta the cummins and get some serious power out of them, but, off the showroom floor, they'll still pull the crap out of anything IMO. They also seem to have the least amount of turbo lag of all the major 3 manufacturers turbo diesels. And from what I see of people I know who have the powerstroke's, the powerstrokes have the worst turbo lag. I know 2 people who have the 6.0 powerstrokes who have told me the same thing: "If you have a load behind ya going up a hill, and you don't have the powerstroke in it's powerband, FORGET IT".

But, I still love my GMC 6.0 gas. No turbo lag (for obvious reasons), and it does everything I need it to do other than get me good gas milage :D

No worries. I really like my Furd. My Power Stroke has had zero problems. The ride is softer than my GM HD (before and after the lifts were installed). The Super Duty series is getting a major face lift on their 2007 models... Hope they do it right.

Before you throw me to the wolves - I "love" GM, but the Super Duty does deserve its props in the looks, size and utilitarian department. The Dodge Cummins is a killer diesel but the transmission it’s mated to isn’t that great.

From owning both makes of trucks, it’s fair to say that GM leads the pack with the Duramax and Allison combo.

While we're talking about Diesels. Why the heck do they make them so quiet nowadays!? Isn't that why folks buy diesels? The cool noise they make? I noticed that with the D-max and the new Cummins. Can't hardly hear them. What the f***?
