i bought lowering springs for my 99+ silverado a few years ago. took the front wheel off, dinged around under there for about an hour. put the wheel back on and put the springs on eBay. doh!

if i ever do lower it i'll just take it in.

good luck!

Jack the front of the truck as high as safe. Place jack stands under the frame, the tires should be at full droop. Move your jack underneath the lower A-arm near where it mounts to the frame and apply pressure. Unbolt it from it pivot point, it will remain attached at the lower ball joint. Once the bolts are removed the jack should be holding it up. The bolts will need coaxed out and back in. Slowly release pressure on the jack to lower the A-arm, thus releasing the spring tension. Once it is relaxed, out with old in with new. Jack the arm back into place, and bolt it. Make sure the springs seat in the perch properly. Get an alignment done too. And Don't hurt yourself. :chevy:

alright, thank for the tips. i think i'll be ok since i've turned many of wrenches on a truck before, except i turned them on a 66 ford pickup, which compared to our trucks is like apple to oranges.
