Seat track mounting bolts

I had to order a new piece of seat track trim from the dealer, as mine was broken. I see the seat track mounting bolts are not a standard hex head, but more like a "reverse" torx. I checked my standard quto supply places but cant find one. Any ideas? I'd hate to see what the dealer wants for it!

the front bolts use a #18EP female torx socket

the rear bolts use a regular #16 female torx socket

A regular #18 does not fit very well and will round the head off.

you will probably have to get the #18EP from Mac, Snap-On, or similar type dealers.

It's exactly what you said... a reverse torx. I don't recall the size, but I can look tomorrow. Dealers don't sell tools, but if you can find a MAC or Snap-On guy driving around, they *might* have one. Expect to pay about 40 bucks for it. Yes, that's for ONE socket.

You can use a 6-sided regular socket.... Sizes 15 and 11 if I remember right.

No need to buy a special tool. I have taken the seats out of tons of trucks with those and haven't had a problem once.

Agreed. I pulled everything out of my interior to for a soundproofing project. I don't remember the exact size but standard metric sockets worked for me.
