i LOVE the new avalanche. UNTIL I LOOK AT THE EXTERIOR.

WHAT I WANT TO DO.

1. PULL THE FRONT CLIP  &  SWAP SUBURBAN Z71 CLIP

2. YANK THE DOORS & INSTALL SUB DOORS

3. CUT (YES CUT A NEW TRUCK) THE REAR QUARTERS AND WELD ON SUBURBAN HALF QUARTERS.

AT THIS POINT YOU WOULD HAVE A SUBURBAN SUT (ALA CADDILAC ESCALADE SUT)

4. ADD 4" LIFT KIT

5. ADD 33" X 12.5" PRO COMP MUD TERRAINS ON 16 X 8 WHEELS

QUESTION? HOW FAR DO I HAVE TO GO ON FRONT END TO FIND SHARED COMPONETRY? AND WHERE CAN I GET A PARTS LIST ( SINCE DEALER WONT HELP ME)

I would think in the end, you'd actually save money modifying a Sub rather than an Avalanche. All the pieces of the front clip will at least run you 2K.

have to start with the avalanche for the following reasons

1. suburban cost 4-6k more

2. avalanche has reinforced body at roof section

cant just wack of the top of a suburban and call it a day

3. suburban parts are readily available (cant say the same for av parts)

4. gm already did the engineering on av (midgate & bed section) thats tough for me to properly duplicate and be structurally sound

5. lots easier to swap bolt on pieces (front clip/doors)

84John is correct.  Also, the bed of the Av is a heavier gauge of sheetmetal under the Pro-Tec box.  BTW, do you have a job or just a ton of free time?  By the time you spend all your time and money on the mods, you would have been ahead buying the Escalade EXT....
