Shift cable for my 99 silverado

Hello everyone, I have a problem with my 99 z71. The cable going from the shifter to the tranny needs to be fixed. At the tranny its attached by a plastic fitting on the end of the cable. Anybody ever replace one of these or maybe just replace the end?? Any thoughts on cost of the part?

You have to replace the entire cable.

  I'm really disappointed there is no headlight switch. I use that all the time when I'm working on the farm at night. I'm just not a fan of where trucks are going. Maybe the W/T or Custom will keep it.

  Ok guys, after my first post "Shopping for a new truck and have some questions" I have decide to get the 10 speed truck instead of the older 6 speed. With that being said I have another question. Should I buy a new truck or one a year or so old with 20-30k miles. I have been told as long as it has had good service records and the transmission had been serviced that would be the way to go and save myself the initial depreciation hit. What is the best way to go. Thanks Gary

  Notes 6/18/2026 Back on E-85. At current War pricing there was not way to make that work. Not even close.

  On our 100 mile jaunt today regular was $3.83 in Rochelle and $4.68 rural. There was also a dollar difference in road diesel. I know where the OTR's are fueling.
