Fog - Driving lights 2002 Z71

I was thinking about replacing my driving lights with "fog" type bulbs. I don't want to replace the entire light just the bulb.

I really don't use them for driving and thought the green lights might look cool.

Anybody have any suggestions?

Green lights? If you want green lights, don't have them on past your driveway or you'll get a nice fat citation.

White or amber are your two options, and I have yet to see a replacement bulb in any color other than white.

Don't shoot the messenger

I read 'Green', not greenish yellow... I'd say if they are more yellow (amber) than green you'll be alright, IF you can find them.

State Law is very clear that colored lights are illegal on civilian vehicles. The only legal lights include the devices already installed on most cars; red brake lights, amber turn lights, white head lights, etc.

Changing or modifying these lights, using filters, or adding additional lights with other colors in any manner are illegal while the vehicle is being operated on public roads.

Fog Lamps...not daytime driving lights. I understand that you can't change the color of your required lighting products but we are talking about aux. lamps. You know, the small lights that mount in the lower facia. They sell fog lamps in autoparts stores for aftermarket installation. I was just wondering if there is a replacement bulb that would do the same thing or if I would have to change the entire lamp.

Cool, I really guess I didn't mean GREEN. More of the yellow amber. Let me know how they work out. I just don't want it to look "tunered" up if you know what I mean.

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean... I think amber would be cool, especially since the light output sucks anyway and my headlights are a lot brighter white, makes the driving lights (not DRL's) look yellowish-white.

Another $16 spent on ebay, lol.

Dunno if this is on topic but I bought a pair of fog lights for 25 bucks at Wally World. Had my brother bolt them to the bracketry where my previous lights were, plugged in the wires, and was ready to go in less than an hour. See sig for more info. The headlights on my car are always on as DRL's, so no need to replace them yet.

A simple change in color may help somewhat, however I believe the main reason "fog" lights work well in inclement weather is the shape of the reflector/light beam they throw out (which won't change by simply changing the bulb).
