Remote and seat position?

Recommended Posts

when we bought our '05 Sierra 2500HD SLT it was easy to program the driver 1 and 2 seat/mirror positions using the buttons on the driver door. However, our remotes have numbers on them that I thought coincided with the driver memory buttons in the door. The dealer even told us to make sure that I used button 1 on the door because my remote had a 1 on the back of it...but it doesn't work. I read through the manual and found nothing about using the remote to automatically adjust the seat/mirrors when that remote is used to unlock the doors. Am I missing something? Have any of you pulled off this incredible feat?

GM deleted this feature for the '05's, you have to push the button on the door, the fob number makes no difference.

This is something that I really liked on my '03 Silverado, I was EXTREMELY dissapointed that GM removed it on the '05's.

You know, I've heard that you have to unlock the truck with the fob 1 or 2 and program the corresponding seat/mirror position, with that key in the ignition. What do you have to lose? A reason to spend a couple MORE minutes in your new truck?

GM deleted this option? WTF? That stinks. I really like this option on my HD (and wife's Burb). Why on earth would they discontinue that option?
