Installed a TBI Spacer

Hey guys,

I installed a TBI spacer in my truck over the weekend.  I bought it off of eBay for around $50.  It had a helix bore and included all of the hardware.  I installed it in about an hour.  I was very impressed by the improvement in torque.  You feel it right off the idle.  The only thing is, the truck sounds like it has a turbocharger in it.  It sounds like you are riding in a Peterbilt.  Other than that, it is a worth wild mod.  So if you are thinking about getting one, go for it.

I used a JET spacer and the design is silent. It has rounded grooves twisting downward instead of being parallel to the bore which is what causes the whistling. I could notice a difference in torque. This one will be up for grabs in a few weeks I'll be getting a whipple. Will post in for sale section, along with the JET chip I will have coming out.

Since we have the same engine(  ;) ) Email me with a fair price and I might take them off your hands  :D

Im guessing a poweraid or Helix power tower. I will have pics of the whipple posted and commentary as soon as it goes on. Should be in a few weeks. Can't wait.

Hope I don't bust my rearend gear out of it..or my tranny, but that will be a good excuse to upgrade, I suppose.

Hey djames,

The spacer didn't have any name on it.  I am thinking the guy I bought it from, might of machined it.  However, your AV would take a different spacer than mine would, but I'm sure you could find one on eBay anyway.  Good Luck

Even if you do bust something, you can still say that you have a supercharger, something not everybody has, but wants:D

I have the PowerAid spacer on my 93 Yukon......and it did make a noticeable differance.  From about 15mph to around 35-40.......felt like it had a "Boost" or a "powerband"......

Worth the $70 i paid for it.

I've got a T&D TBI spacer sitting in my garage that I've never installed.  You guys are making me think about installing it now.  One thing I don't have is the extensions for the fuel lines.  Did you guys need extensions because when I tried to install it, I couldn't get the fuel lines to reach the throttle body unit.  I've noticed the other brands of TBI spacers come with fuel line extensions.  Anyone know where I can get em?  Thanks!

Oh yeah, I would kill to have a whipple on this truck!  Have fun with yours  :D
