Brakes!!!

Recommended Posts

Posted

Last week I changed my brake pads on front. I changed the rotors last time and they were still smooth so I skipped turning them this time. All I did was pop off old pads and install new ones. I didn't bleed the system or anything.

Now when I press the brake pedal I hear the sound of air escaping something.

Suggestions?

Thanks

Is that a pretty straight forward repair job? Could it be a smaller component or just simply the booster. I see NAPA has them for about $130.

I'd have to agree on the booster.

Replacing the booster is a simple job, remove vacuum hose with pliers, unbolt master cylinder from booster, push it aside (be sure not to unbolt any brake lines!), go inside of cab, unbolt pedal actuator from booster, unboltx4 booster from cab (bolts inside of cab near brake pedal..rod?), slide out booster, reverse for install. All of the interior bolts are a pain in the ass to get at, but it is not a hard job aside from that.
