Larger Capacity Fuel Tank Vendor

I know it should be larger, can't go back now, sorry. (Taken care of for you)

Northwest Metal Products

I saw some of their stuff listed on Ebay and after much digging found the link to thier site. It all looks pretty serious and good. Anyone in Oregon care to check them out? It seems to be the best solution to a common problem with our puny tanks. 37 gallons would get me at least 350 miles on a fill up, that's a little better.

Here's a clip of thier only catalog listing for an HD style GM Truck:

New Search

Make: Chevrolet and GMC

Model: Chevrolet/GMC 2500 HD Extended Cab, short box 4x4 2001-2003

Part Number: CPR-8

Type: Replacement

Size: (Gallons) 37

Price: $625.00

INCLUDES: Mounting Hardware-Gauge Modification Material Kit.

I don't see why this tank wouldn't fit all short box 01-03, does anyone? Might fit other years also.

Has anyone here heard of this company or better yet anyone have one of their tanks and care to give a review?

Nice find Haulin', I did an extensive search about 6 months ago and only found the Transfer Flow 45G unit.

I hope you get some hits on you question. Sure would be nice to see a pic or find someone who's installed one.

Isn't the stock tank is like 34gal? I know I have put over 30 in mine. Why spend all that cash for 3 more gallons??

I think this is what "Haulin 8.1" is trying to say.

For a shortbed pickup it would mean carrying an extra 11 gallons of fuel.

Since the shortbed trucks only have a 26 gallon tank, compared to the 34 gallon tank that is on the longbed trucks.

I would think that the company making the tanks can get a 37 gallon tank on a shortbed truck, then they should be able to get a 45 gallon tank on a longbed truck.

I sent an e-mail to NW Metal Products and here is there response.

If someone can tell me how to post a pic here, I can add the photo of the tank.

I've attached a pic of the CPR-8.

It only fits 01-03 short bed Chevys. In 04 they changed the frame so you could get the tank in but you couldn't fill it or get any fuel out of it. It can sit there and look pretty! We do have a new tank on the drawing board but the designer is still trying to get the bugs worked out. I'll go ahead and save your email and let you know when it's ready.
