8.1 L VORTEC

Hallo, I need a ecm for a 8.1 vortec engine, this ecm must be from 2001 and work with the 40L80-e transmission(rwd). I need this because I have a 8.1 crate engine that will be on a 67 buick riviera. I want that the engine works like on Your trucks, and because there gonne be a Kenne-Bell supercharger on it. Its also possible to buy a ecm by autoparts but then do I need a VIN number with this specifications, so it can be reflaching.

I also need the transmission and wiring harness, so maybe somebody knows a wreck??

Thanks

Carl

Trying to find one for an 8.1 and 4l80 would be hard. All pickup 8.1 use the allison. I think the suburban 8.1 still use the 4l80.

I would contact one of the many tunners mentioned/sponsors on this site. They can tell you or even sell you the correct pcm. You will need the new pcm tunned for your application anyway.

i think the pcm from any 01-02 will work, it doesnt have to be the pickup one but i think it can be the ecm off a 2001 5.3 4l60e for example, im not sure about this but im sure any of the tuners have them for under 200 bucks

Thanks,

Who of the tuners can help me the best?

I have talked with Jessie (wait4me) and Nelson. both seemed very knowledgable. I know Jessie makes entire harness for street rods to go with the pcm. I had no trouble reaching him a few month ago but lately his customer service has left a lot to be disired. Phone seems to be the best way. I reached Nelson (looking for an e-fan harness) by e-mail. He responded the next day.

Shoot some e-mails off and see who responds.
