Transmission woes

I posted this a few months ago didn't get very many responses, I'll try it again.

Truck currently has 96,000 miles, everything shifts smoothly, problem I have is that on warm days, (75 degrees+ outside) after driving for 15+ min at highway speeds of 65MPH+ and after maybe going up a slight hill the transmission, while in overdrive, will act as though overdrive isn't there and the RPMs go up as though I were in drive instead of overdrive. if I let off the gas, it falls back down to IDLE RPMs (instead of it staying at a steady RPM like it is supposed to do when your in gear) and once I apply gas it goes right back up as though it were in drive. It'll do this for awhile and then my overdrive comes back and it'll drive fine.

so it kind of drives like its in tow haul mode, maybe its a computer problem or might need a reflash or something of the sort.. just some 2 cents

I don't think I'd describe it as Tow/Haul mode, even when it's in tow haul mode and the transmission is working properly, the RPMs don't drop down to idle when my foot is taken off the gas.
