New seats in old body?

Does anyone know if you can put the new body style leather seats in a 98 truck?? Thanks! Tom.

Not sure if the bolt holes will line up, but just about anything can be fabricated to work. You'll end up with 2 sets of seat belts though as the newer seats have the seatbelts integrated into them. Guess you could always remove the original seatbelts in the B-pillars to clean it up a bit.

Not a direct swap by any means, but i have seen it done.

One issue that I would suggest you consider is the seatbelt issue. I am 6'4" and in the new style seats the should belt has to go up to my shoulder level. In my OBS the belt came down to my shoulder which I find much more comfortable. I am sure the GM engineers would tell you that the seat model is more safe but I would be surprised if the difference would be worth it to me versus the 500,000 miles since my last accident.

Bolt holes do not line up. We did a custom truck with escalde seats and we had to drill through the floor board and just use a standard nut and bolt. Make sure you have the alignment right. The seat belt will not be an issue as long as you fit in the seat some guys that are too tall have a problem with the seat reguardless but if you are about 6'2" and under you will be just fine

Thank you all very much for the replies. The only reason I would like to switch them is that I think the new style seats are more comfortable...and my 98 seats look like hell. I figured I could just swap 'em on out. I can live with drilling thru the floor...not too attached to all of that steel anyways. Thanks a million!
