Sports cards

I have been looking into buying some rookie Hockey cards for my collection (Crosby, Ovechkin, etc....) I haven't been into sports cards for a few years now. I am wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction as far as brands of cards. When I collected cards in the past, the better cards were Upper Deck, Opee-chee Premier, Etc...

Any one out there in the collector cards market? Any help appreciated.

Ah, yes. O-Pee-Chee. The Canadian equivelent of Topps, if memory serves.

I collected sports cards many moons ago. Hockey was at the bottom of my list (NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL only), but the ones I had were from some better known brands like Upper Deck, Fleer, Donruss, Topps, Score, and Pacific. A lot of plain old "common" cards went for $.10-$.15 up to $500 or more for the best of the best. I cursed the day my cards store back home turned into a bicycle repaire and sales store.

Forgive the dumb question, but are Crosby and Ovechkin NHL players or the brand of cards?

BTW, anyone know what an unopened series pack of 1993 Topps MLB cards would go for nowadays? The whole 1993 set, unopened and in a plastic box direct from the store.

Yes, Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin are the last two #1 overall picks in the last two years draft in the NHL.

Some of the cards are listed pretty high already because of the hype. I think I'll wait until they come back down to reality. Alot of the brands listed on Ebay are ones I've never heard of. They must be Canadian.

R Dogg 56, Are you from MN?

If so, I can't believe you're not a hockey fan. :chill:

Those d@m Vikings suck this year! :nopity:

I was from MN, but moved to ND in January of this year.

Hockey for me is, no offense, kinda boring. However, I liked the Wild trying to go for the Cup a while back. They're a good team.

I'm more of a NFL fan. Yeah, I don't know how long Tice will be here, apparently Zygi Wilf has more faith in him than everyone else. I say, let them build the new stadium, and let the player take a pay cut for it to offset the taxpayers' amount that they have to pay for it.

'T'would be sweet to have a better stadium than the Metrodome. Maybe they could keep the Dome as it is and use it for a Museum of MN history.
