Front seat switch

Hi folks,

 

I'm thinking about picking up a 91 Suburban to replace my 90 (with 247k on it).  One thing I'd probably have to do is replace the front bench seat in the '91 because I know the buckets in my '90 are more comfortable.  Question:  how doable is this?  Are the tracks and mounting hardware the same for bench seats and buckets?  How big of a   is this?

 

Where would one look for aftermarket seats and center consoles for a vehicle this old?

Welcome to the forum, and this should be fairly easy I would think.

 

I did it in my 00 silverado and I'm not 100% sure, but I'm guessing in the old body style the mounting holes are the same for buckets and benches.  If not, just break out the old drill.

What about junk yards?  I don't know about the bolt patterns.  You probably need to drill holes (hopefully you hit some reinforcement sections).  Otherwise I don't have much input.  Under the assumption that you don't need to drill, what about taking the seats out of your truck and switching with the "new" one?

Just take the bolts out of the floor and everything should match up fine.  Just got done replacing a friends from an '89 to a '90.
