New AMSOIL Air Filter

AMSOIL has come out with a new air filter. Donaldson filters teamed up with AMSOIL on their Nanofiber technology. The current price for this filter that fits most of our trucks is $47.45 retail for the EaA123 standard filter or EaA121 heavy duty filter. As of 1 November 05 AMSOIL now offers their new line of Nanofiber oil filters. It will be replacing their SDF oil filters.

Interesting information. I wonder if Arlen Spicer and Ken would conduct the test again using the new filters from AMSOIL. Since AMSOIL is phasing out their foam air filters it would be interesting to see where the new Nanofiber filters fit in. Changing technology sure can get expensive.

 

Is there a similar test for oil filters?

After reading these test results, I almost ran out to my truck to yank my k&n filter out, and put the stock one back in. But after looking at the test data tables I noticed that the k&n and the AFE filters where tested using fine dust and the rest of the filters where tested using course dust.

Now I'm no expert but this doesn't seem like a very accurate comparision. I'm also not a die-hard k&n fan. I bought one because it made economical sense to be able to just wash, oil and reuse and still get sufficient air flow and filtration. If the k&n isn't giving me adequate filtration I would pull it without hesitation. But this test doesn't prove that to me.

Somebody enlighten me please, maybe I'm missing something.
