Avalanche Back Window Problem

Recommended Posts

So far I love my Av. and I haven't had a single problem.  However on Saturday I had a huge load of yard crap..(bushes, mulch, concrete) that needed to go to the dump.  When I went to drop the midgate and pull out the window I noticed that in the middle bottom part of the plastic trim to the window, right where the centering arrow is.......there was a small 1/4" piece cracked out.  It didn't show any signs of leaking and everything still works and fits fine but this is still an issue.  Has anyone else had this happen?  Do you think this is something that can be replaced by warranty.  I thought I read a post about this at one time but I couldn't find it under anything.

On the bright side I installed my billet grill on Friday night and my engraved hood deflector should be coming any day.  Let me say the grill looks sweet.

yes, you did read a post about that, but I'm not sure where it was...  maybe one of the Av guys can remember.  I'll do a quick search and see if I can find it.

Ok, here is a thread where BigBlkAvalanche mentions his crack.  If I remember correctly there was more to this because the dealer had a hard time locating a "dark smoke" replacement window for him.  Maybe you should send him a "private message".

Yep,.. I had a crack in my window frame. I read about it in another forum, and low and behold mine was cracked in the upper passenger side. The dealer replaced it without a question. It started out as a hairline crack, and within 3 months it was 3/4 " wide!

Good luck.

So the dealer had NO problem ordering me a new glass but the plot thickens.  When I got the call to pick it up I went in and there seemed to be a little side discussion between 2 techs.  I got the idea that the glass that showed up was for another customer................well the part that was funny is they got my keys and pulled my av around to the back of the garage area out of my view.  When it came back 10 minutes later it had a new glass...................however, I think it was a new/used glass.  It was pretty dirty and looked like one off of the lot trucks.  I think that is fine and I'm glad they did that instead of sending me away and having me come back later.  I just wish they were honest and told me they did it.  There attempt at being shifty and sneaky worries me about my future maintenance there.  What do you all think.
