Recommended Posts

I own a 96 GMC Yukon and I need to replace intake gaskets this weekend, does anyone have any tips to make this process less painful and more efficient?

Thanks

I cut my bracket that holds the coil and stuff. Otherwise there is a bolt that is a pain to install at the back of the right head. Mark the position of the rotor and distributer base. This way you can reinstall it in the exact position and not get a code related to timing. Other than that it is a straight install.

Did you break the fitting for the coolant line going to the heater core? I did. The $10 tool was worth having for removal of the broken piece of crap fitting.

Awful pricey tool when a screwdriver and hammer works good for busting it out.

Go ahead and replace that fitting while the intake is off, even if it isn't messed up yet.

Get the improved version and put it on now. You'll wish you had later if you don't.
