Weird chain of events.

 

I don't quite understand what's going on. I would love a translation but it looks like they did it on purpose.

There are easier ways to get ice for the cooler.

Well I think I found the translation an another site. Seems He got stuck on the ridge. He got turned and decided to go "across the ice" As they let him down with a winch he broke thru the ice. They burned up 3 winches trying to get him out. Then the decision was made to go forward thru the pond. It was slow going breaking thru the ice. Somewhere along the way his front bumper got ripped off while winching. Then darkness. Then re-freezing of the pond overnight. Salvation came in form of the trac-hoe. Quite a bit of damage if ya ask me.

I think that the dude tried to cross the pond because he had an ice proof snorkle(ha ha) then they burnt up three winches trying to get him to the other side. d**n they're smart.
