Wait4Me Tune

Is the $ 157 price keeping your old PCM ? I'd like to keep my old one. What are you guys asking for ? I want about 25 + horses, economy, better shifting and 265x70x17 tires put in. What's up with the ones that have to be returned for whatever reason ? Is there no standard for tuning power, shifting & economy for a 5.3 ? Are tunes different wanting these three same things ? If so, why ? What should I ask for with no problems associated to it ?

2001 with 21,000 actual miles. This is a picture I had before I put the Escalade vent caps on. I hated the louver type. Denali headlights also. Should have got the clear corners.

Increase HP AND better fuel economy? OK, sounds good but I don't know if that is really an attainable goal.

I have a Westers Tune and the reason I went that way was because I am not average. I live at 6800 feet and tow a 7000lb trailer. My bumpers weigh a lot more than stock, so that effects my mileage.

All of those variables went into the Wester's Tune to "tweak" the computer for my truck.

Sure, a few extra horses can improve MPG. That's general knowledge I thought. If done in a parameter setting. As many as these guys do they don't know the 'sweet' spot yet for the average driver ? I doubt you expected economy, you wanted a work tune.

the wait4metune was the best $157.70 I ever spent.

I asked for a normal 87-89 octane tune. no idea on actual HP increase, but the seat of the pants dyno notices a big gain. my towing gas milage has increased by 2mpg. it went from 13.5 to 15.5mpg. the truck is not the same, I'm waiting for a hemi to try to pick on a plane jane stock chevy 4X4 and embarace it. that would make my day.

VORTECS ROCK!

I also went with teh $157 deal on the wait4me tune. I kept my old PCM as well.

I sold my HPP3 for $240 on ebay and had some gas money left over :seeya:

I also went with the PCM option. Also the best $150 I spent. I listed all my mods for him (intake and exhaust, 180 tstat). I asked for the following:

93 Octane

no speed limiter

raise rev limiter

raise shift points

correct tire size (Stock were P265/70R16 and I put on LT265/75R16)

No increase in shift firmness as I have a built trans that shifts plenty firm

Remove Torque Management

The absolute best part is the removal of torque management IMO. As a bonus, I get better gas mileage by about 1.5mpg.

Average driver, no mods. Got to be a lot of them. Where's the 'sweet' spot. He should know by now. Maybe it's the ones with the mods that have to tinker with the re-tunes.

I did not know of this waitforme tune option. Forgive me, for I am a bonehead when it comes to these tunes. I would just like the d**n Torque Management gone....is this the road I need to take?
