Hey

04 Silverado 4.8L SWB 4x4 SWB

Regular Guage Cluster

Appears I've had a light to go out on me as its weak between the 30 - 40 mph part of the cluster.... Everything else lights up fine...

Truck is out of warranty other than the extended I purchased but I dont' wanna give 200 bucks for a light.... anyone tell me how to replace the light or maybe changing the color on it. :seeya:

Put the steering wheel in the most downward position you can. Set the ebrake, and put the transmission in the lowest gear on the column (If its auto). Pull carefully on the bezel. Its held in with clips. Once you pull that out, you should see the cluster/guages is held in with a few screws. Unscrew those and you should be able to pull out the cluster. Look on the back and I believe the bulbs are accessible. I cant remember if they just pull out though, or if they twist, then pull out. Once you look back there, it should be apparent. Not sure if you can get colored bulbs though. And even so, remember you aren't going through clear plastic, so it may not be very bright. But it never hurts to experiment :D Good luck!

:shakehead::mad: - Kinda figured that I just wanted to make sure I had the right bulbs before I got the thing apart...

Does it take flashlight bulbs or what?
