Pinion angle help needed

Okay , I am new to the forum. I have a 93 GMC 1500 2 wheel drive that I bought recently. The previous owner installed a 3/4 drop kit using front springs and rear hangers. My concern is the Pinion angle. I have a 66 Nova that I turned into a street/strip car. I found that 5 to 7 degrees of pinion angle works well for a leaf spring car. The truck seemed to be kinda strange to drive ( 5 Speed ) so I checked the pinion angle using the tool Jegs sells. It had 0 pinion angle so I installed some 2 degree shims I had left over from the Nova. It felt much better but of corse now I am concerned will adding another 2 degrees make it better or worse? Has anyone ever checked the factory pinion angle? Does anyone know what is the ideal setting for a lowered truck?

I had the same issue and found that for every inch you lower the car/truck you should use a 1 degree shimm. Okay its early 4inch drop means 4degree shimms, 6 inch drop means 6 degree shimms and so on.
