retarding the timing

Is there a way to retard the timing on a 2005 Yukon? I think mine may be too high and is why it pings at high speed. Would the timing have in increased for emissions?

You'd have to get a tuner, such as a Predator to change the timing. No distributor to twist!

 

But, you have other issues if you are pinging, such as too low octane gasoline. Or maybe a modification is fooling the computer. If your gasoline's octane is correct, everything is correct for the computer, then I think you need to take your Yuk to the dealer. It is still under warranty.
