04 silverado door panel lock/window switch removal

Can you remove the door panel and switch with no problems? I have been told that if you unplug the switch panel that when you plug it back up the switches wont work unless the dealer reflashes the truck,is this true? I know its not on the 99-02 models but I wanted to be sure on the 04 up models. Also any tips on getting the switch unplugged? I have herd it is harder than the 99-02 models.

Just unplugging the switch and plugging it back in does not require any sort of programming. Replacing it with a NEW switch, which is actually the driver's door module, would need programming.

The door panel has to come off to remove the switch. There are no tricks to unplugging it.

As GM-Tech said there are no problems with unplugging and re-plugging in the same switch.

When you remove the trim panel just remember to put the screws back in the same location,you don't want to put the long screw in the top,it will scratch the glass.

I just had my trim panels off my '04 last night and had them off and back on in about a half-hour.
