e85 fuel

i have a 2002 silverado 1/2 ton with the 5.3. i read that it is made for regular fuel or e85. if this is true are there any precautions to take or any mods to start using this fuel? right now it is about 60 cents cheaper per gallon.

If you have the L59 engine, that is, the eighth digit of your VIN is a "Z", you can use E85 without problem. If the eighth digit is not a "Z", you cannot use that fuel.
