Assistance with VAN install

Hey there everyone im seeking help with the nav unit install, and my problem is pretty simple. How do you mount/install the navigation antenna? I cant figure it out for anything. I have a 2005 Silverado option QU7 with the 15229287 unit. PLease any help would excellent.

It is my understanding that in order to do it properly, you need to remove the dash and there is a cross member that the NAV antenna tees with and the screw goes in from the top. Some have opted to go this route and some have just wedged or tie-wrapped it in the general vacinity. There are several sites that discuss this and some pretty good pics if you spend the time to look!
