BILSTEIN SHOCKS

:flag: I'm looking at buying a set of take off Bilstein shocks. All they can tell me is they are off a 2005 Z-71 with Bilstien Factory Suspension. They say the part #'s on one pair has #'s 15210861 & 041851b370w0 and other pair has 15210858 & 041552b369w0. I can't find these #'s anywhere thru Bilstein to cross reference. Are these GM #'s? Can you check these #'s and see what they fit on? And is there any way for you to tell me if these will work for me? I have a 2003 EC 1500 z71 4wd.

I could be wrong, but unless they changed it for the 2005 model year the trucks no longer come with bilstein shocks. I know that my '04 Z has the red tenneco's.

As robot said,GM no longer uses Bilstein's for the Z71 pickups (None of the New-Body-Style pickups have Bilstein's only the Old-Body-Style)

Only the Avalance's,Trailblazer's and SSR's still use Bilstein's.

The numbers you gave are for a 3/4 Ton Avalance,I can't answer if they will fit or not,The only way to tell for sure is to try and see if they will bolt on.

Is there any way for you to cross reference these #s to Bilstein product #'s??? I'm guessing they are GM. Also would a 1500 4wd with a Z71 package be considered heavy duty??? Thanks for all your help guys.

Nope,I can't cross them,I can only give you the GM or AC-Delco part numbers,The GM parts catalog does not give us the Bilstein part number.

I know places like Auto-Zone can get Bilstein's,Maybe they can cross the numbers.

And No to your second question,A 1500 Z71 is not considered "Heavy-Duty".

The "Old-Body-Style" trucks had a "Heavy-Duty-Chassis Package"(RPO Code F44) that you could get along with the Z71 pkg.,This is what I had on my '94 & '97 1500 Ext.Cab Z71's.

By the way,Prospect is up in Beaver County Right? I'm down here here in Greene Co.

Going to the right area with this due to it being a parts question.

Auto Zone, I changed my stock shocks to Bilsteins. If you have Z-71 package shock diameter is larger than on 4X4 models. Shocks ran me $50 each. I had them on for five years now, a big improvement.

I have a 97 Z71, Im not sure if I have the Heavy duty chassis package or not. I was looking at some bilsteins to replace the stock ones, I work at advance and we dont have any part #'s for them, however we can order them second source from keystone, no numbers I would have to call it in. I found them on summit earlier, wasnt sure if I had the HD chassis package or not. That RPO code will be helpful.

MS3dale, Im right below you, in Morgantown.

97chevy,The RPO Code for the heavy-duty chassis your looking for is "F44".

But having the heavy-duty chassis has nothing to do with the shocks,You could get the heavy-duty chassis with or without the Z71 package.

The "F44" heavy-duty chassis package (Available on certain 1/2 tons) consisted of a 9 1/2in. semi-floating rear axle with bigger 2 3/4x11 1/4in brakes, bigger U-joints and an additional rear leaf spring,It increased the trucks GVWR from 6200lbs. to 6600lbs.
