Anyone on this board done any serious mods to a TBI 350? I'd just be interested to know since I hardly ever see anyone with anything done to a TBI 350. Thanks!

Ok, I have a question. I made the topic of this post "Anyone modified their TBI 350?"... but it posted my username before it. I didn't type my name there, so how do I make it not do that? :lookaround:

Welcome to the forum, there's a few guys here w/ 350's that can help you out w/ mods for it and such.

Thanks for the help! I thought I put the topic name in right... but maybe I didn't :ehh:

I have heard its pretty hard to get a lot of power out of a TBI 350 because of the low compression, intake design, and limitations of the factory computer. I'd be interested to see if anyone has gotten any good power out of theirs.

My setup has a ton of torque, but making horsepower with this engine seems to be tuff.

I have a prevortec 350 in my work van. I had the shop mechanic thow a rv cam in it. I read in a 4x4 mag( dont rember wich one) had 94 with a stroker kit ala 383ci , ad a chip and some dual exhaust. While you a at it thow in a edelbrock port injection system. NOW YOU Talkin.

Thanks! I've thought about putting a TPI intake on it which has a similar design to the Edelbrock Multi-point fuel injection upgrade. The cost is just a lot, and you don't get a huge gain. I just don't want to shell out $800+ dollars for Edelbrocks multi-point injection system and then have to spend another $200 plus to get a chip to match my heads and cam. Pretty expensive to add 25 or so HP. A 383 would be nice

Then maybe go the other way. They make aftermarket manfolds that convert back to carbs. Get yourself your favaorite big a** carb , work the heads over and pump up the spark and go racing !!!
