Temperature Operating Range for 7.4l

I just picked up the AutoEnginuity program to really delve in and monitor my trucks performance.

 

I noticed that my running temperature is hanging between 120 and 130 degrees with the outside temp in the mid 30 degrees. I would guess this is a little too low, and would be the reason my timing advance is about 40degree and my LTFT hits about -16 to -17. Running a 160degree thermostat, I would guess the truck should get up to 160 without any issues, even in the cooler days.

 

So, what should I expect to see as a normal operating coolant temp oin a 7.4l with a 160 degree thermostat in the cooler winter days?

 

Time to do a full coolant flush and get rid of the water wetter used over the summer?

Change you thermostat back to a 195deg. and all will be well. The watter wetter isnt the problem.
