I dusted off my machinist handbook and the conversion factor is 61.02376 cu per liter.  That would make the 6.0L 366.14265 CU.  However, GM is vague when they rate a displacement by Liters, so this is still just approx assuming the motor is truely displacing exactly 6.0L's!!!  If the motor is 6.05L or 5.95L then the CU will change...  I hope this at least gets you in the ballpark.

Ryan,

Like I said I dusted it off....  it is the Twenty-First Edition.

And yes it is the Machinery's Handbook.  (sorry about that)

According to the 2001 GMC sales literature:

4.3 = 262cu

4.8 = 293

5.3 = 325

6.0 = 364

6.6 = 402

8.1 = 496

Hope that answers your question.

Why do you suppose GM's website shows the 5.3L as

5328 cc (327 cu.in.)?

It's clearly 325 cu.in.  (325.13459328)  Maybe they wanted to bring back fond memories of the old 327?

At least they don't lie about the hp....cough.....FORD....cough.  But I'm not going to mention any names.  ;)

I had some insurance literature (which I can't find now :idontgetit: ) that listed the 5.3 @ 327cc and the 6.0 @ 365.  Not surprisingly, they rounded the displacement up slightly!
