Tailgate maximum load rating

I'm new to this forum, but have searched the topic and not found what I needed. I need a reference to information on the maximum load rating of the tailgate on a 2005 Sierra 1500 pickup. I'm looking at Ready Ramps to load a variety of "equipment" such as motorcycles, snowmobiles and lawn & garden equipment. The Ramps come in two ratings. 600 and 1000 lbs. Can I safely load 1000lbs on a ramp that is supported on the rear edge of a lowered tailgate? THANKS for any help you can give!

I don't know if there is a rating. I mix concrete in a tow behind mixer. I stand on the tailgate and dump premix bags from the truck into the mixer. I usually have about 8 bags completely on the tailgate with me (about 700lbs total). It always closes fine at the end of the day so I know I haven't bent it. Did break straps on older trucks but that was a corrosion problem new ones haven't broken yet.

If you are concerned with the weight take the gate off and load right into the bed.
