I've got JBA shorties on mine.  I like them a lot.  Their nickel-chrome plated, and probably have about three years of use on them, and still look great.  The have some rust appearing where the tubes touch, but they are holding up well.  Anyway, they were very easy to install and flow well.  Long tubes are going to give you more torque, but you will have to have a custom Y-pipe made and your 02 sensor put in the Y-pipe (since there is only one).

Most of the shorty headers I've seen for these trucks look very similar.  One thing I really liked about the JBA's is the header flanges are really thick.

I say if your looking for all out performance, go with long tubes.  But if your just looking for a nice gain and not looking to go through the hassle of having a custom Y-pipe made, go with shorties.  IMO I don't think a near stock TBI 350 needs longtubes.  Mine has custom heads and cam and I don't think it needs longtubes.  Just my $.02
