cpformula Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 I have a 2005 Chevy 1500 extended cab truck with 7k miles. Around 4k miles, a "creaking" noise began in the passenger side rear window. It appears or at least sounds like the window isn't sealing properly and the latch just isn't holding the window as tight as it should. I also have terrible wind noise coming from BOTH windows at 70mph. I've taken it to the dealership and they want to replace the passenger side rear glass. They have had to order the glass so we are waiting on this. I'm not sure what replacing the glass is going to do since it's a noise problem and not a broken window problem. Any suggestions?
SS Crew Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 Try this: If the wind noise really bothers you, just press the recirc. button on your HVAC controls. That seemed to do the trick in my '99 ecsb. I always had some sort of airflow going through the cab so that's what worked for me. I guess it kind of equalizes the air pressure on both sides of the glass. Good luck and let me know if it works for you. SS

MS3DALE Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 You have to get the window to get the seal,The seal and frame are part of the window,Thats why they ordered you new windows. The new windows will come with new latches also.
