Best running boards/nerf bars...

Any opinions on which ones look and work best? I would like to add a set to my '06 Tahoe to help deter door dings and so my wife and kid can step up easier.

If anyone has any links to site's with good deals that would be great.

If you have the $$ stick with OEM Chevy parts, they seem to have better coatings from what i've seen.

Hmmmm, I was checking Westin's site and they make a Platinum Series that comes with a lifetime warranty.

The Westin Platinum series nerfs are good solid bars. I tried the Oval Tubes as well, but the chrome kept peeling, and I had to have them replaced under Westins warranty 3 times.

Currently, I'm running MAAP stainless Oval tubes on my truck. So far they are holding up well. I bought them from Cabelas, and they call them the "Endeavor Tube Steps".

I've got a set of 'Bully Brand' bars, they have the same hardware and non-skid pattern as Westin, so I think that they might be made by them, just under a different marketing name. The difference is that they have a red LED light strip running along the side of them. I hooked these lights up to my parking and turn signals, so they are on when my lights are and blink with my turn signals. I got them at Summit Racing for about $300. They have a lifetime warranty and they bolt right up to existing holes, no drilling or cutting needed.

I've got a set of Nasta Nerf bars on my Silverado ext cab. They are all stainless including stainless mounting accessories. They were much cheaper than most and cost around $270 if I remember correctly. So far no complaints.

I have a set of Westin oval tube step in black powerdercoat that I've had on the truck for about 3yrs now, lifetime warrenty also. No problems at all and they look good, I've been happy with them. I got mine from summit racing.

I have a set of Luverne stainless steel side entry step running board on my Yukon

excellent quality and easy to keep clean. they are a little wider than the factory boards and makes getting in and out of the Yukon easier.

here is a picture of the steps Luverne Steps . Disregard the truck they are on, They look better on a GM!

Whatever you do, get stainless steel...NOT chrome!

Stainless will never peel or crack. Yes, doesn't look as shiny as chrome, but will surely last longer.

If I want a deep Luster that looks just like my chrome wheels, I use a little bit of BLUE MAGIC metal polish on my Stainless running boards and it's good to go for a couple of months.
