hekx Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 Its a 1983 GMC short-bed. w/ a 350. I have done everything! I replaced the starter, the battery, the alternator, the cord, and have taken it to a mechanic, who replaced the clutch switch. It will start every once in awhile then; you turn it off. It wont turnover , it wont even attempt a turnover. I am so aggrivated right now... Please help
dougmac Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 I would first check the cable connections. Then I would check to see if I had voltage at the "S" terminal on the starter solenoid when the ignition switch was in the crank position. No voltage at the “S” terminal, check the ignition switch, clutch switch and connections/wires back to the ignition switch. Voltage present at the “S” terminal and no cranking, check cables, starter, solenoid, solenoid ground. Good Luck, Doug
