On Sunday I'm having this installed:

Alpine head unit CDA 9856 with the iPod cable

Alpine SPR 17LP

Alpine SPR 17SP

Alpine SWE 1242 12" Sub Type E

Alpine MRP T220 for the sub

Alpine MRP F240 for the other speakers

All this plus a box for the sub and installed for 1500.00 Please tell me that's a good deal and I didn't make a dumb mistake. It's going into a 2000 Yukon, I'm hoping it will all sound great in the end. Is it worth having some sound padding put in the doors? If so how much do I need

Thanks and I'll post up pics if ya'll want to see what it looks like in the end.

If you can afford it and you're chasing your dreams then it's a good deal.

Dynamat on the door panels will reduce the chance of the sheet metal "ringing". You could have them just put a 12" square sheet where the woofer is, or you could have 'em do the whole door (doors). It's a cinch to install, just peel and stick, and then press it into the contours of the sheet metal. They should only charge you for the mat, no additional labor. Or if you're installing it yourself you could go to walmart and get some Skoshe brand dynamat, they sell the 12" squares for pretty cheap.

Thanks, I've just never A) spent that much on a stereo system at once and B)I've never gone with Alpine so I was a bit nervous about brand choice with reference to sound quality.

But everything I've checked out reads that the Alpine Type R speakers are a very good sounding speaker, much better than most. So with that news I'm much more confident in my choice.

I'll look into the dynamat, thanks for the input.
