Brake light problem 1997 full size van

This is a GMC Savanna if it makes a difference. I have a problem I can't seem to figure out. I suspect the brake light switch but it doesn't make sense. All lights seem to work when the lights are off except the third brake light. When the lights are turned on the cruise quits working and the brake lights don't seem to work, almost like a bad ground. Has anyone had this problem and figured it out???

most likely it is going to be in the left or right or both tail light assmebly circult board. this vehicle is bad about the circult board that is atached to that tail light assm burning up or melting part of the board, take out the tail light there should be a long rectangle box on the back there either is clips or screws that hold the box together. open the box a look a the board for burn spots or melting.

Thanks, I will take a look. Sounds expensive to fix???
