4l60e overdrive problem

I have 98 suburban, 172,000 miles, had the transmission rebuilt 5,000 miles ago. Now, I have a seriously hard bang while in overdrive. It only occurs above 45mph, but it doesn't matter if the truck is hot or cold. It seems to occur after coming off the top of a hill, but not always, and it does not shift out of OD. I called the guy who rebuilt my transmission, and he said it might be normal torque converter lockup, but it seems abnormal to me. This is a pretty hard shift, and it happens alot, sometimes on level ground with no load. Any ideas would be helpful. Trying to decide if it is time for a new Suburban.

My trannsmission does a similar problem at 160k + on the orignal. I am getting ready to rebuild it in the next few months. I believe y problem to be the torque converter and this has been verified by a tranny guy.
