Throttle Body Swap

If I change to a larger throttle body (BBK, etc..) will I also have to have my PCM changed to acknowledge the newer and larger TB?

 

Does anyone out there know what size the factory 4.8L TB size is? I was thinking of getting the BBK TB but not sure how much larger that one is compared to my stocker.

Do NOT swap!

The BBK will give you no gains and cause problems. Your TB is good, look else where for performance mods.

The stock TB measures 74.93mm. It is used on the 4.8, 5.3, 6.0 and 8.1.

It is already larger than you need on your 4.8. If you bolt on a supercharger there may be a slight gain.

The BBK is 80mm.

Another vote against the TB. What a waste of money. Port the stocker a little and call it good.
