Electric Fans

I am looking at a few mods to pick up a little HP, TQ and MPG from my 02 Yukon XL 5.3L with 4.10 gears. I tow a 6,000lb camper and would like a little better performance. Since 05, GM has been using dual elect fans on their p ups and suvs. I have talked with one svc writer at a Chev dealer and he said they have had no complaints. He also said GM was able to add around 15 HP and almost 1 MPG by doing this. I have researched this and found an OE replacement unit from Flex a Lite that looks really nice and is made specifiacally for this truck. They claim 17HP and 20 ft lbs of tq. I called them with concerns of loss of a/c cooling at low speeds or idle and they assured me their unit pulls a max of 5500 CFMs which is much more than the oe mech. fan. Their fan comes on at 60% capacity (3300CFMs) and increases to 5500 as the temp rises.

Has anyone tried this and if so what has been your experience? Maybe someone with an 05 or 06 could share how their truck does with e fans??

PS I am also down to 2 cold air intakes which use the OE air box, the True Flow unit or AFE's unit. The more I research this, the more confused I get. Any info or suggestions would be helpful. I am not interested in an open element due to the noise.
