fuel pump wire harness

is there a updated or revised wier harness for the late 90's trucks ? i thought i heard about one. my 97 k3500 with a 454 started blowing the fuel pump fuse under the hood and then died. so while im replacing the pump i like to get the new harness if there is one. a part number would be great if you have one, im guessing this is a dealer only item ? how much of the harness does it replace? thanks for your replys.

The external harness is usually not a problem. The harness that's part of the sending unit is the one that usually takes a beating. Getting a new sending unit assembly gets you the harness too. Not sure if it's available separately.
