Silverado 05 tailights on 01 Silverado

Hello everybdoy.

 

I was thinking about replacing my factory tailights on my 05 Silverado. I would like to give the lights to my dad to replace the fading tailights on his 01 Silverado. Both trucks do not have the flare sides bed. Are the 05 lights compatible without modification on the 01? TIA, - Shoot2Thrill

The 05 tailights look different than the 01's but I believe they should bolt up in the 01. If you are unsure take out a tailight from your 05 and try it in the 01.

Swap the harness's also to make the 05's work correctly.

I reused the tail lights harness from my 99 on my 05 tail lights. I have yet to try hinking in the harness from the 05.
