96 2500 CD Player Upgrade

I have a 96 2500 that is more of a work truck but i will be driving it alot more here soon.

Its a pretty stock truck, and therefore only has a tape player, which is a problem bc of my large cd collection. The other problem is I don't like the look of a din player in the din 1.5. Its a crap truck but I want to keep the stock looks.

It has the opening that can fit the second slave cd player below the ac controls. If I can get one of those will it plug directly into my stock head unit with the tape player? If so, is the wiring already there or do I have to get another plug?

I also think there is several different players that fit those models, if I get one that is just a cd player head unit, do I need to just get one that has been unlocked? Or do I need to get the player to work in my truck?

Even better, anyone have something like that that will fit they want to sell?

Hey, I also have a 96 silverado. I recently replaced both the OEM cassette radio unit and the cd unit that mounts under the climate controls. The links below direct you to the site that i bought them off of. They sell refurbished and new units. So far they have worked great, i'm actually planning on sending in my old units and having them refurbished. But yeah, they are extremely easy to install, I'm 17 and i did it in about 15 minutes. The units were a little pricy but they are factory so thats expected. Well I hope this helps!
